To access the Rescue Tool, log on with the rescue user name. No password is required when using the default logon options. However, you can specify several user/password combinations and require a minimum number of successful logons before granting access. For example, you can have five possible user/password combinations, and a user will need to supply at least three of these to access the Rescue Tool. For more information, see Adding authentication to the Rescue Tool.
You can access the Rescue Tool using one of the following methods:
- If using OneSpan Authentication Server Virtual Appliance, switch to the console view in your hypervisor software and log on.
Connect a screen and keyboard directly to the OneSpan Authentication Server Appliance device, and log on in a command-line prompt.
This does not apply to OneSpan Authentication Server Virtual Appliance!
Connect a workstation or laptop computer to the OneSpan Authentication Server Appliance device using a serial null modem cable plugged into a serial port on both devices. This requires configuration specific to the operating system of the workstation or laptop computer.

Press ENTER if no logon prompt appears.
