Once OneSpan Authentication Server is installed and operational, backup copies should be made of important files and data. You can use several backup and recovery measures for OneSpan Authentication Server data files when planning contingencies for system failures. Any time changes are made to the system configuration, you should consider to update your backups. User and authenticator data should be backed up on a frequent, regular basis.
The following topics do not include instructions how to back up executable and system files. In the event of a catastrophic failure, these files can be restored or reinstalled from the original distribution media (and any subsequent service packs/security updates).
When you copy, migrate, or back up encrypted database files, ensure that you also back up the encryption key (and/or the optional password key). Otherwise, you will not be able to read the data afterward, as it will be encrypted.
