Default Administrative Users

Each administration interface has its own default administrative user with its own default credentials.

The password of the sysadmin user account to access the OneSpan Authentication Server Appliance Configuration Tool must be changed during initial setup via the First Time Configuration wizard.

Using the default user account sysadmin to access the Configuration Tool is less secure than using the user-defined administrator account. We recommend that you disable the default sysadmin account as soon as the administrator account is enabled.

You can also add password protection to the Rescue Tool (see Accessing the Rescue Tool).

During the installation and initial setup, the OneSpan Authentication Server Setup wizard will prompt you to configure administrative credentials (administrative user name and password). By default, this user account will have access to the OneSpan Authentication Server Administration Web Interface and the OneSpan Authentication Server Appliance Configuration Tool (see OneSpan Authentication Server Setup wizard).

A system administrator named _system is registered in the master domain by default. This administrator account cannot be removed and is used by OneSpan Authentication Server Appliance for system operations.

Passwords of the default administrative users can be reset to the default values in the Configuration Tool (via System > Actions). For more information, refer to the OneSpan Authentication Server Appliance Installation and Maintenance Guide.
