If you choose to install the embedded MariaDB database provided with OneSpan Authentication Server, your default audit method will be ODBC Database. In addition, OneSpan Authentication Server will automatically configure the data source name (DSN) according to the settings used during installation. The default settings therein will be enough for OneSpan Authentication Server to perform auditing tasks. During the installation process, OneSpan Authentication Server will automatically perform all the steps laid out in the description to manually set up an ODBC audit message database in the OneSpan Authentication Server Administrator Guide.
Choosing alternative auditing deployments will require manual auditing setup. This entails three basic steps:
- Set up an audit message destination. If this will be a text file or the Windows Event Log, no configuration is required.
- Configure auditing in the OneSpan Authentication Server to send audit messages to the correct destination.
- Configure OneSpan Authentication Server Audit Viewer to retrieve, filter, and display audit messages.
