Defining and Grouping Criteria to Manage Risks

To detect and act upon fraudulent behavior Risk Analytics Presentation Service offers a set of different options to filter the events, according to clearly defined parameters. These filtering levels are generated and organized in a hierarchy within rule management.

By defining rules and rule criteria in Risk Analytics Presentation Service you define criteria in one place to analyze risks and pending alerts so that further alerts can be raised. Rules exist within a hierarchical concept: a rule is placed in a division, which in turn is placed in a campaign.

Before an event matches against a rule, it will have to match the criteria specified at the campaign level. Division criteria are added to each criteria rule belonging to the division.

To access previously defined rules navigate to DESIGN RULES & ACTIONS > Rule Management > Rules in Risk Analytics Presentation Service. For more information about rules and creating rules, see Rules, actions, and response/status.

Decision analytics

Risk Analytics Presentation Service displays the Decision Analytics tab in the dashboard of every hierarchy item. The table in this tab is read-only; it displays the information from the database.

Risk Analytics Jobs web service computes daily factors stored in the Decision Analytics Server. Daily computation starts at 00:00 hours every night. For more information about changing the computation interval, refer to the OneSpan Risk Analytics Installation Guide.

The decision analytics table contains the following elements:

• Inference factors. The Inference factors column lists the factors to be used.

• Factors table. Lists the factor used for analysis.

• Score Field. This column displays the destination field in which the score will be placed.

Risk Analytics Presentation Service will display only those parameters that have been set up in the database.

You need to verify if the Decision Analytics option is set to Yes for the relevant hierarchy item; otherwise, Risk Analytics will not carry out any decision analytics.
