Description
The Digipass e-Signature Validation Service is used to perform signature validation and integrity control, based on the signature code generated by the user's Digipass, and on up to eight data fields. The authentication modes used with e-signature verification are SG and MM. For a description of the authentication modes, see Authenticator application authentication mode
Functionalities
For a successful user e-signature validation, Digipass e-Signature Validation Service provides several functionalities:
- Signature validation
- Message signature validation
Workflow
Validating an e-signature involves the following steps (see Figure: e-signature validation workflow):
- Retrieving the BLOB assigned to the user in the database using the user ID.
- Submitting the BLOB, the data fields, and the signature to Authentication Suite Server SDK.
- Writing the BLOB updated by Authentication Suite Server SDK back to the database.
- Interpreting the code returned by Authentication Suite Server SDK.
This workflow describes the usage of the standard signature validation functionality for which the signature has been generated by the Digipass based on datafields.
The message signature validation functionality is a different functionality and is dedicated for validation of particular signatures which have been generated by the Digipass based on either Activation Message 2 (multi-device activation; see Activation Message 2 signature validation workflow) or based on a request message (Secure Channel protocol; see Secure Channel request/response global workflow).
