Data Migration Tool (DMT) does not migrate configuration settings. You need (and should) transfer and configure settings manually. Data migration applies the following modifications to the respective record types:
Domains and organizational units
If the master domain name is different between products or locations, you can configure Data Migration Tool to change the domain for the affected user accounts.
It is important to use the correct letter case when the Change Master Domain name to option is used during data migration. If an incorrect letter case is used, authenticator migration and assignment fails with a decryption error. In addition, the Change Master Domain name to option can only be used for the master domain.
Domain hierarchies are not supported, and all domains will be created on the same level. Because organizational units are not created, all data records will be created on domain level.
User accounts
Some privileges will not be migrated for administrators if the master domain is different between source and destination databases. For more information, see Data modifications to user accounts during migration.
Authenticators
The time and date of assignment for authenticator records is reset during migration.
Reports
Reports that are set to Private and are not located in the master domain will not be migrated. To include these records in the migration, set their status to Public before the migration.
General data
Record creation/modification dates will be set automatically during migration. They cannot be preserved from another data store.
Trace files and audit files will not be moved. To migrate these files they will have to be either backed up, archived, or moved manually.
Data modifications to user accounts during migration
If Windows Name Resolution is enabled, user accounts that belong to the master domain will be translated and moved to the respective domain.
Administrative privileges (OneSpan Authentication Server as source)
If you migrate from OneSpan Authentication Server, administrative privileges will be migrated without modification, except if the master domain is different between source and destination.
The Access Data in All Domains administrative privilege can only be used by administrators in the master domain. If the master domain is set to different domains in the source and destination databases, this privilege will be revoked from all administrators, unless the Change Master Domain name to option is selected during migration (see Change Master Domain name to).
