Follow the outlined procedure to successfully migrate data from one OneSpan product to another with Data Migration Tool (DMT).
We recommend that you migrate data only to a system with one single destination product to allow a simpler migration process. Additional servers should be set up after the initial data migration.
Migration process (Overview)
Install and configure the destination product.
For more information, refer to the respective product installation guide.
Re-configure the destination product for the new database. With OneSpan Authentication Server, this is done via the Administration Web Interface.
Prepare the source system for migration.
If you want to migrate from OneSpan Authentication Server or OneSpan Authentication Server Appliance, see Prepare the source system (OneSpan Authentication Server or OneSpan Authentication Server Appliance).
If you want to migrate from Authentication Server Framework, see Prepare migration from a DIGIPASS import file (Authentication Server Framework).
If required, restart the source system in migration mode (see Migration mode).
Prepare the destination system for migration (see Prepare the destination system).
Restart the destination system in migration mode (see Migration mode).
Run a test migration to identify potential problems before committing data to the process (see Test migration).
Migrate the data (see Migrate data).
Test whether user and authenticator records were migrated as expected. For example, use the RADIUS Client Simulator program to test some user logins.
Once the destination product has been tested and verified, configure existing clients to send requests to the destination product. This includes RADIUS clients and administration interfaces such as the OneSpan Authentication Server Administration Web Interface.
Configure Digipass Authentication Module products (e.g. Digipass Authentication for Citrix StoreFront) to send authentication requests to the new destination product.
Once the destination product is fully operational and handles all requests properly, uninstall and decommission the source product.
When the destination product is using the new data store correctly, archive the old database and remove it from the host.
When you copy, migrate, or back up encrypted database files, ensure that you also back up the encryption key (and/or the optional password key). Otherwise, you will not be able to read the data afterward, as it will be encrypted.
