As a maker administrator, you can complete one or more pending operations after they have been approved by a checker administrator.
You can only complete approved pending operations that were originally initiated by you.
If you selected the Execute the operation automatically after approval checkbox when creating the pending operation, the operation is automatically completed on your behalf upon approval by the checker administrator. In that case, you do not need to complete it explicitly.
Before you begin
- Ensure that you have administrative access to the OneSpan Authentication Server Administration Web Interface.
- Ensure that the pending operations you want to execute have been approved.
Executing an approved pending operation
To execute an approved pending operation
- Log on to the Administration Web Interface.
- Select SERVERS > Pending Operations.
From the list, select the approved pending operation(s) that you want to complete.
If you want to view the details of a pending operation, click the corresponding pending operation identifier (POID). The Manage pending operation page provides general information about the operation, as well as update history and command details.
Click EXECUTE.
Click OK to confirm that you want to complete the selected pending operations.
After successful execution of all selected pending operations, you are redirected to the list of pending operations.
Additional considerations
Administrative commands that require maker–checker authorization are usually validating the input parameters twice: once when creating the pending operation and once when completing the approved pending operation. For instance, if you create a user account and specify a static password, the password is verified against the password complexity rules of the effective policy twice. If the password complexity rules are modified in between, completing an approved pending operation may fail!
