First Start and Initial Configuration

When you have installed OneSpan Authentication Server Virtual Appliance in the virtual machine, you're ready to start the virtual appliance for the first time, configure its network settings, and access the OneSpan Authentication Server Appliance Configuration Tool.
Network configuration
To configure the network
- Start the OneSpan Authentication Server Virtual Appliance virtual machine (see Starting the virtual machine).
Open the console of the virtual machine to view its start progress.
Do not interrupt the start process! Turning off your virtual appliance while it is starting can corrupt its file system.
When OneSpan Authentication Server Virtual Appliance has started, you need to configure your network settings:
- When you are prompted to do so, sign in. Use rescue as the user ID. No password is required.
- Press n to configure your network settings.
Change the IP address and default gateway of your appliance so that you can access it via the network.

Accessing the OneSpan Authentication Server Appliance Configuration Tool
To access the OneSpan Authentication Server Appliance Configuration Tool
- Open a web browser window.
Navigate to the following URL: https://appliance_lan_ip
where:
- appliance_lan_ip is the LAN IP configured with the Rescue Tool.
- Accept the self-signed certificate.
- Click Appliance Configuration.
Sign in with the following credentials:
- Username: sysadmin
- Password: sysadmin
