Logging uses information generated about events in the OneSpan Authentication Server Appliance Configuration Tool and includes information about operations such as updating, back up, and restore.
Logging is based on the syslog utility, which supports local and remote storage and processing of logs. Settings can be configured in the Configuration Tool or the Configuration Wizard ).
Logged events are accumulated in a file to a maximum of 80,000 lines. When this threshold is reached, a new file is created. A certain number of files are archived, but log files are rotated, i.e. the oldest file is replaced by the latest file. Log files are therefore automatically cleaned.
Log data can also be sent to a remote syslog-compliant server.
The following topics provide information about:
- Configuring logging (see Configuring logging)
- Configuring remote logging (see Configuring logging
- Viewing and filtering files in the live log viewer (see Managing log files)
- Downloading and deleting log files (see Managing log files)
