When user accounts are deleted in the LDAP data store, and if you have selected the Delete users option in the LDAP Synchronization Tool Configuration Utility, the deletion of the user will be included in the synchronization process. As a result, the corresponding user account on OneSpan Authentication Server will be deleted.
If the user account to be deleted has items assigned that cannot be deleted, e.g. reports, tasks, or pending operations, the deletion of the user will fail. To prevent this issue and ensure that user accounts can be deleted on OneSpan Authentication Server, specify a successor user. The successor will take ownership of all items that may prevent the deletion of the target user.
The successor user must be an administrative user account in the same domain as the user to be deleted. You can specify the successor ID in the LDAP Synchronization Tool Configuration Utility. For more information, see Profiles > OAS (tab).
If you do not specify a successor user, user accounts with reports, tasks, or pending operations assigned cannot be deleted.
If you have selected Delete users but the specified successor user is not a valid administrator account, the synchronization process for the relevant profile will fail.
