Managing Log Files

A live log viewer in the OneSpan Authentication Server Appliance Configuration Tool allows to monitor Configuration Tool events. Live log views can be filtered using log levels and/or words ).
To view and filter log files
- Launch the OneSpan Authentication Server Appliance Configuration Tool and enter your credentials (see Accessing OneSpan Authentication Server Appliance Configuration Tool and OneSpan Authentication Server Administration Web Interface).
- Select Monitoring> System Logs.
If required, you can filter by using simple or advanced filters:
- To use the simple filter, type the characters to be searched for in the message part of the log in the Filter box. Only lines with content that matches the filter entry will be listed. To clear the filter, click X.
To use the advanced filter, click the arrow to the right of the Filter box to open the Advanced Filter dialog (seeFigure: Advanced Filter dialog). For more information about searching using the filter fields, see Table: Log filter fields.

Type | Description |
---|---|
Start Date | Only records after the date specified are displayed. |
End Date | Records up to and including the entered date are displayed. |
Facility is | Only logs referencing the selected facility are displayed. Possible values:
|
Level at least | Only logs referencing the selected level are displayed. For a list of the log levels, refer to the OneSpan Authentication Server Appliance Administrator Reference. |
Program contains | Only records with a program matching the search string are displayed. |
Process ID | Enter the process ID to use as a filter parameter for your search. |
Message contains | Only records with a message matching the search string are displayed. |
It is only possible to access the advanced filter when the simple filter is cleared. To clear the simple filter, click the X icon next to the Filter box.
To download and delete log files
- Launch the OneSpan Authentication Server Appliance Configuration Tool and enter your credentials (see Accessing OneSpan Authentication Server Appliance Configuration Tool and OneSpan Authentication Server Administration Web Interface).
- Navigate to Monitoring> Log File Management and click System Logs. Available log files will be listed below.
Click the disk icon right to an available log file to download it or the trash can icon to delete it.

Clicking the trash can icon to delete the log file will also delete all older log files.
