Start the PSM Remote Configuration Manager

To start the PSM Remote Configuration Manager

  • Click Start > Programs > OneSpan Password Synchronization Manager > PSM Remote Configuration Manager.

The PSM Remote Configuration Manager main window consists of the following items:

  1. Menu bar and toolbar

  2. Configuration explorer sidebar

  3. Server list with server status bar

  4. Configuration pane

  5. Status bar

The toolbar provides quick access to the most common commands:

  1. Load server list

  2. Save server list

  3. New configuration

  4. Add server list

  5. Search global catalog

  6. Search domain

  7. Search CBS

  8. Refresh

  9. Open Help

Configuration explorer sidebar

The configuration explorer sidebar displays the password filter configurations and managed servers (domain controllers) in a hierarchical list. The servers are grouped by the assigned configurations. The configurations and settings are retrieved from the servers directly.

In addition, one or more of the following default groups may exist:

  • No access. This group contains servers where the Windows registry cannot be accessed remotely.

  • Not installed. This group contains servers where Password Synchronization Manager is not installed.

  • Unassigned. This group contains servers where Password Synchronization Manager is installed, but no password filter configuration is assigned.

Server list

The server list displays all servers of the group selected in the configuration explorer sidebar. The server status bar below the server list displays status information about the server(s) selected in the server list. If you select Configurations in the configuration explorer sidebar, the server list displays all servers.

Server state

Meaning

Status: PSM installed and enabled.

Status: PSM installed and enabled, but problems detected. The problems are usually caused by incorrect configuration.

Status: PSM installed, but disabled or inactive.

Status: PSM installed, but disabled due to a critical problem.

Status: PSM installed, but inactive due to an invalid configuration.

Status: PSM not installed.

Status: No access to server.

Configuration pane

The configuration pane is used to set up or change the settings of a password filter configuration.

Status bar

The status bar at the bottom of the window displays information about the current state, background tasks, and other contextual information.
