Push Notification Authentication

Push Notification is an out-of-band (OOB) authentication method that uses a push mode to enable the Digipass App on a mobile device to authenticate a user. The user receives a notification prompt on the mobile device during the authentication process, and completes the authentication process by tapping on the device.

You can use Push Notification as an alternative authentication mode for Digipass Authentication for Windows Logon. Instead of typing a one-time password (OTP) in the Password field when authenticating to Windows, you can request a Push Notification message by selecting Push Notification Authentication and submitting the request.

Push Notification with Digipass Authentication for Windows Logon works only if the client computer is connected to the network and can establish a connection to OneSpan Authentication Server, similar to online authentication. You cannot use Push Notification to authenticate with Digipass Authentication for Windows Logon if the client computer is not connected to the network or cannot establish a connection to OneSpan Authentication Server. However, you can configure OneSpan Authentication Server to generate offline authentication data (OAD) during successful Push Notification authentication (for subsequent offline authentication with an OTP).
