The licensing uses a license key that is verified when OneSpan Authentication Server Appliance starts. This license key is tied to the network location (IP address) where OneSpan Authentication Server Appliance is installed, and stored in the OneSpan Authentication Server Appliance server component record.
Licensing is the process of identifying an issued OneSpan Authentication Server Appliance instance to OneSpan to issue a license file.
You need to obtain and load new license keys for your server components in the following cases:
- You need to change or have changed the OneSpan Authentication Server Appliance IP address.
- You need to restore a backup of another OneSpan Authentication Server Appliance, e.g. for replacement.
- You need to change from an evaluation license to a commercial license.
- You need to upgrade a commercial license to add new license options.
- You want to upgrade to a higher major version of OneSpan Authentication Server Appliance.
- You need to restore the factory default state.
For more information about first-time licensing of OneSpan Authentication Server Appliance, see Licensing Wizard.
For more information about license types and re-licensing, refer to the OneSpan Authentication Server Appliance Product Guide, Section "Licensing".
