Replacing a recipient with an Ad Hoc Group Recipient
You can replace a recipient (external signer, internal sender, myself, placeholder, sender group) with an ad hoc group recipient.
When replacing an individual recipient that is also a member of an ad hoc group, all instances of that recipient will be replaced with the new recipient.
Replacement can be done from the sender interface, directly on the Transaction/Template Edit page or from the Recipient Settings modal, or from the API.
If the Myself recipient has signatures or files associated to them, you will not be able to replace them with the ad hoc group recipient type (or any other recipient type)
If an individual recipient is also a member of an ad hoc group, you will only be able to replace them with another "Recipient" type (external signer or internal sender), as the other types are not supported as ad hoc group members. From the user interface, the Recipient type menu will only have the "Recipient" option available in this case (Myself, Placeholder and Group options will be hidden).
Replacing an Ad Hoc Group Recipient with another recipient type
You can replace an ad hoc group recipient with another recipient type (external signer, internal sender, myself, placeholder, sender group)
When replacing an Ad Hoc Group recipient:
- If its members do not belong to any other ad hoc group and are not individual signers in the transaction, they will be removed from the transaction.
- If its members belong to any other ad hoc group or are an individual signer in the transaction, they will remain in the transaction, but their membership to said ad hoc group will be removed.
Replacement can be done from the sender interface, directly on the Transaction/Template Edit page or from the Recipient Settings modal, or from the API.
If the Ad Hoc Group has signatures or fields associated, you will not be able to replace them with the Myself recipient.
If the Ad Hoc Group recipient has any accepted signatures, you will not be able to replace them or any of its members. The fields will be disabled in the Sender UI.
Note:
When the Ad Hoc Groups feature is disabled for the account, you will still be able to replace Ad Hoc Groups with another recipient type.
Replacing an Ad Hoc Group member with another recipient
You can replace an ad hoc group member with another recipient (this is essentially performing an update).
When replacing an Ad hoc Group member:
- If the member does not belong to any other ad hoc group and is not individual signers in the transaction, they will be removed from the transaction.
- If the member is also a member of another ad hoc group or is an individual signer, all instances of that recipient will be replaced with the new recipient.
Replacement can be done from the sender interface, directly on the Transaction/Template Edit page or from the Recipient Settings modal, or from the API.
If the Ad Hoc Group recipient has any accepted signatures, you will not be able to replace them or any of its members. The fields will be disabled in the Sender UI.
