Replication is configured using a wizard in the OneSpan Authentication Server Appliance Configuration Tool. The IP addresses of the source and target OneSpan Authentication Server Appliance instances need to be specified in both. Further configuration is automated with the target becoming a replication of the source OneSpan Authentication Server Appliance. After the initial synchronization, all services are identical on both OneSpan Authentication Server Appliance instances with modified data replicated in both directions.
Auditing data is copied, it is not replicated. For more information about continuously downloading audit logs, refer to the OneSpan Authentication Server Appliance Administrator Guide.
The host name specified in the Configuration Tool during the first run of the Configuration Wizard or manually is used to identify the correct OneSpan Authentication Server Appliance instance in the replication setup. This host name is used for the following:
- To select the correct OneSpan Authentication Server Appliance instance to log on to using the Administration Web Interface.
- As an identifier in the logging to determine the source of the log line.
For more information about completing the Replication wizard, refer to the OneSpan Authentication Server Appliance Administrator Guide.
- Only the authentication setup can be replicated. Audit logs can be copied between two systems in a replication setup.
- Replication between different major versions of OneSpan Authentication Server Appliance is not possible.
- During most upgrades, replication links that are present on the instance of OneSpan Authentication Server Appliance are removed and need to be restored after the upgrade.
