You can use the Rescue Tool to do the following:
- Reset OneSpan Authentication Server Appliance configuration settings to factory default settings. This means that licenses are removed, configuration data is lost, and network settings are reset. The same conditions apply as with first time installation (see First-time setup).
- Ping other IP addresses to determine if connection can be established.
- Reset the sysadmin user account. If the Rescue Tool is used to reset the default sysadmin user account for the Configuration Tool, it resets the password to the factory default value, i.e. sysadmin, enables the sysadmin user account, and logs out of the Configuration Tool. When OneSpan Authentication Server Appliance is accessed, the Configuration Wizard detects that the password for the sysadmin user account needs to be changed and presents a respective page. The Configuration Tool is not accessible until the password has been changed.
- Reset the access settings for the Configuration Tool, allowing access from any client computer. This feature effectively resets the Limit Access to Networks setting.
- Change and view network settings, e.g. changing the OneSpan Authentication Server Appliance IP address. After the Rescue Tool has been used to change the IP address, the same conditions apply as described in Changing the IP address.
- Restart or shut down OneSpan Authentication Server Appliance.
When the Rescue Tool is started, a support connection will be established. This will enable a support technician to access your OneSpan Authentication Server Appliance if you need support when the Configuration Tool is unavailable.
