If you encounter problems with OneSpan Authentication Server Appliance after upgrading to a new version, you can revert the OneSpan Authentication Server Appliance operating system to the previous version.
Before you begin
If you revert to a previous version you will lose all configuration modifications since the upgrade, including:
- OneSpan Authentication Server configuration, e.g. newly created users or authenticator assignments
- System configuration, e.g. monitoring settings or LDAP user synchronization
Additionally, depending on the specific upgrade, other data acquired since the upgrade may be removed, including:
- Audit database records
- System statistics
We recommend to contact OneSpan support to address your problem before reverting an upgrade.
Reverting an installed upgrade
To revert an installed upgrade
- Log on to the OneSpan Authentication Server Appliance Configuration Tool, and select System > Actions.
Click Revert to a previous version of OneSpan Authentication Server Appliance.
The Revert Upgrade wizard appears, showing the previously installed operating system and the date and time when the current update was installed. The date and time are important, because all configuration modifications after that moment will be lost.

Click Finish to revert to the original version.
OneSpan Authentication Server Appliance will restart and revert to the previous version.
Additional considerations
You can only revert to a previous version if the current version has been installed using an upgrade, i.e. not after a clean install.
