Types of trace files
OneSpan Authentication Server Appliance creates three types of trace files:
- Message Delivery Component trace files. See Message Delivery Component (MDC) .
- OneSpan Authentication Server trace files. These record actions performed in the Administration Web Interface and services such as authentication, electronic signatures, and provisioning.
- LDAP Synchronization trace files. See LDAP user synchronization.
Trace file options
Trace files can be accessed in the Configuration Tool.
You can set different tracing levels:
- None
- Basic
- Full
- Debug (Should only be used when specifically requested by OneSpan customer support)
You can enable trace file rotation for Message Delivery Component trace files and OneSpan Authentication Server trace files. After a specified amount of time (number of days) or if the trace file exceeds a specified size limit, the trace file is copied to another (optionally compressed) archive file, and a new trace file is created. You can configure the number of files kept before deleting the oldest one.
Managing trace files
Trace files can be viewed, downloaded, and deleted via the Configuration Tool.
Downloading trace files is useful if a OneSpan support engineer needs to troubleshoot a problem, but cannot use the remote support function. In this case, the system administrator needs to activate tracing in the Configuration Tool, download the trace file, and forward it to support.
