Résumé de l’article

Digipass Authentication for Remote Desktop Web Access allows the use of a trace file to record module activity, e.g. for troubleshooting. This will include errors that have been encountered, warnings, and general information about performed authentication requests.

The level of tracing that Digipass Authentication for Remote Desktop Web Access employs depends on its configuration settings.

Full tracing should only be enabled for troubleshooting purposes. There are no limits set on the size of the trace file, so if the option is left on too long on a high-load system the file may dramatically slow down or crash Windows, due to excessive I/O or filling up the hard drive.

Because there are no size limitations set on the trace file, it is not recommended that you have tracing permanently enabled. If your system is set up with tracing always enabled, delete or archive the file whenever it gets too large, to ensure that the file size does not cause problems.

Configuring tracing options

No tracing

Select this option if you want to disable tracing.

Basic tracing

This tracing level includes error messages, warnings, and high-level information about module activity.

Full tracing

This tracing level includes all basic tracing features, and detailed information about module activity.

Trace file

If you have selected basic or full tracing, specify the path and file name for the trace file. The file path must be the full absolute path. Relative paths may be misinterpreted in the IIS environment so that the trace file cannot be written to.

Digipass Authentication for Remote Desktop Web Access will require permissions for the directory in which the trace file is kept (see Check that permissions are set).

No log rotation

Select this option if you do not want to rotate trace files.

Rotate on days

If you want to rotate trace files after an elapsed number of days, select this option and specify the number of days.

Rotate on size

If you want to rotate trace files when a certain file size is reached, select this option and specify the file size in MB.

Number of archived logs

Specify the number of trace files to keep. The number of archived trace files will remain constant. When a new file is added to the archive list, the oldest file will be deleted.

Compress archived logs

Select this option to compress the kept trace files.
