Updating OneSpan Authentication Server Appliance

OneSpan Authentication Server Appliance can be updated using the Configuration Tool. OneSpan distributes updates to the products on a regular basis via the updating process. Updates are included in the software maintenance contracts.

Updating is facilitated by an Update wizard in the OneSpan Authentication Server Appliance Configuration Tool. Two update modes are available:

• Offline update. The update is applied using an update package from the OneSpan Customer Portal.
• Online update. The update is downloaded and applied through an active connection to the OneSpan Customer Portal.

When an update with the Update wizard is completed (online or offline), OneSpan Authentication Server Appliance restarts automatically. During the restart, services are temporarily unavailable. After the restart, the system administrator needs to log on again to the Configuration Tool and can inspect the Status page for the update status.

If a power failure or other unforeseen event occurs during the update process, a fail-over system reverts OneSpan Authentication Server Appliance to its operational version from the time before the update process was initiated.
