Data is transferred between storage types, formats, or computer systems when:
- Migrating between products, e.g. to or from OneSpan Authentication Server Appliance.
- Migrating between data stores, e.g. from one to another DBMS.
- Upgrading to a newer version.
When upgrading/migrating to a newer version of OneSpan Authentication Server, data is migrated from the source product to the destination product. Data from the old system is converted to the new system utilizing a design for data extraction and data loading.
This process depends on the following factors:
- Source product
- Destination product
- Source data store
- Destination data store
- Source data encryption
- Destination data encryption
Enhancements in newer versions of OneSpan Authentication Server may require additional configuration, and therefore must undergo some modification before being migrated.
Before you start to migrate data, back up your system. This allows you to roll back to the old system in case of data corruption or data loss during the migration.
