This guide provides detailed instructions on how to add a user and configure it to use a DIGIPASS FX7 authenticator in Ping. Follow these steps to add and configure user accounts manually.
If you are a user and received a mail from your company to register your DIGIPASS FX7 authenticator, see Completing the registration for users.
Before you begin
Ensure that you have completed the configuration in Ping (see Configuring Ping for passwordless authentication).
Registering a passkey
Sign in to the Ping Identity Admin Console with your administrator credentials.
Navigate to the Users section in the Admin Console and select Add User to begin the registration process.
Enter the required user information, including username, email address, and other necessary fields.
Configure the authentication method:
In the authentication settings, select Passwordless Authentication.
Select FIDO2 as the authentication method.
Register the DIGIPASS FX7 authenticator:
Connect the DIGIPASS FX7 authenticator to the user's device via USB-C.
Follow the on-screen instructions to initiate the token registration process.
The user will be prompted to tap the luminous button on the DIGIPASS FX7 authenticator to complete the registration.
Once the token is successfully registered, confirm the user details to confirm and save the registration.
The user will receive a confirmation email with instructions on how to log on using the new passwordless authentication method (see Registration process for end users).
