To register a new bank user on the Intelligent Adaptive Authentication demo you need to create a new user account.
Creating a user account on the Intelligent Adaptive Authentication demo
To create a new user account on the Intelligent Adaptive Authentication demo
Via the OneSpan Community Portal, access the Intelligent Adaptive Authentication demo for your environment by selecting the relevant hyperlink.
On the MyBank site of the Intelligent Adaptive Authentication demo, click New Account.
You can choose from a list of ten pre-defined user names.
Select an account from the list and the country. The email address is prepopulated based on the account you select, i.e. user1..10@mybank.com. The tenant is extracted from your portal registered account.
The website displays a Cronto image which contains the activation credentials (user identifier and activation password). Scan the image with the OneSpan Intelligent Adaptive Authentication demo app to activate the user account - to document this procedure and the login scenarios, an account for Jane Doe was created.
The app will notify you, if the activation has been successful, and the Intelligent Adaptive Authentication demo will redirect you to the relevant user account page.
In the OneSpan Intelligent Adaptive Authentication demo app, Ms Doe can now enroll her face and fingerprint.
On the MyBank site, Ms Doe now clicks View account details.
Login scenarios
The following are login scenarios with the newly created user account of Jane Doe in the Sandbox User bank environment. In all scenarios described here, the login or view account details data are sent from a computer that has so far never been used for Ms Doe in the Sandbox User environment.
To simulate different computer fingerprints for the Intelligent Adaptive Authentication demo, use the Risk Parameters (Browser CDDC) section, located in the upper left corner of the Intelligent Adaptive Authentication demo. You collapse and expand this section by clicking on the Earth icon. Here you can select different device locations and fingerprints.
Scenario: Logging in for the first time
When Ms Doe logs in to the Sandbox User environment for the first time with her computer,
The Login and/or CheckBalanceDetail events will match the Risk Management component service rule New Device User.
A Cronto image is displayed on the website and a notification is sent to the mobile device.
The fingerprint of Ms Doe's computer is graylisted.
Scenario: First authentication successful
If Ms Doe has successfully authenticated with the OneSpan Intelligent Adaptive Authentication demo app, using face recognition, the Intelligent Adaptive Authentication demo notifies the Risk Management component about the successful login, and
The LoginSuccess event will match the Risk Management component rule Remove From Graylist which is part of the default near-time campaign Trusted Device Management.
The fingerprint of Ms Doe's computer is on the allowlist in the Risk Management component.
Scenario: First authentication failed
If Ms Doe's first authentication with the OneSpan Intelligent Adaptive Authentication demo app has failed, the Intelligent Adaptive Authentication demo notifies the Risk Management component about the successful login, and
The LoginFailed event or any other event will match the Risk Management component rule Graylisted Device.
A Cronto image is displayed on the website and a notification is sent to the mobile device.
Once Ms Doe's computer has been added to the whitelist it will not be challenged anymore, and strong authentication is no longer required to log in to access the sandbox User banking website.
