# Configure audit logs

## Introduction

Use audit logging to:

- Meet regulatory compliance.
- Inspect server activity while debugging.
- Obtain cryptographic proof that a transaction was completed.
- Troubleshoot issues with Server management or configuration.
- Integrate DigipassONE authentication software with DigipassONE Insights and Smart Sense.

A DigipassONE audit log is a tamper-evident log. Run nnl-mgmt.sh tool’s audit log verification command to detect if anyone has tampered with the logs after creation. See [Verifying Audit Logs](/dpoa/docs/s3suite94-verifying-audit-logs-1).
