# Custom device ID with App SDK for iOS

Use the setDeviceId() function in class DeviceIDUtil to create a custom device ID. For an example, refer to the Tutorial App source code. To test this functionality, please uncomment the following line in the TutorialAppPlus/AppDelegate.swift file:

DeviceIDUtil.setDeviceId("customDeviceID")
```
