In this mode, the installer does not configure the server with tutorial apps. Since the focus is on supporting your fielded apps, it allows you to configure DigipassONE authentication software for use with your apps, set up necessary security, and designate appropriate logging levels to troubleshoot problems. In a typical production deployment, two or more Runtime nodes are configured in a cluster, plus one or more Admin nodes that run the Admin Console and the command-line tools. Refer to Figure 1 below for a sample deployment architecture. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/038f59a7-abd0-4c14-9de7-3434d28b49fd/Images/Documentation/image1(15).png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-29T03%3A50%3A51Z&se=2026-10-29T04%3A50%3A51Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=n7edAISptGQEhHYrIyE%2FjUb3l4gp6l%2FJnWuI1XTFBi0%3D) **Figure 1** Recommended Production Deployment Installation sequence: 1. Install command-line tools (the database schema is configured with the tools). 2. Install at least one Runtime node. 3. Install the Admin node 4. Optional: install additional Runtime and Admin nodes. For production deployments: - You need a load balancer to distribute requests among runtime Server nodes, for example, using a simple round-robin policy. - All Server nodes must use the same Operational Database. The database can be a single database server or a database cluster. Refer to the [Authentication Server](/dpoa/docs/s3suite94-pre-implementation-recommendations-1#14-authentication-server) section in the *Best Practices for Deployment* for recommendations on setting up a cluster and load balancing. Formerly Digipass S3 software.
