The app then displays this user display name instead of the automatically generated, unique user name. For details see *Registering FIDO Authenticators* in the [iOS](/dpoa/docs/s3suite94-implementing-authentication-in-your-app-1#registering), [Android](/dpoa/docs/s3suite94-android-implementing-authentication-in-your-app-1#registering), and [Web](/dpoa/docs/s3suite94-web-implementing-authentication-in-your-web-app-1#registering) Developer Guides. You can also prompt the user to name an individual authenticator, to help them distinguish between multiple FIDO2 authenticators. See *Prompting the User to Name a Security Key* in the [iOS](/dpoa/docs/s3suite94-implementing-authentication-in-your-app-1#prompting-the-user-to-name-a-security-key), [Android](/dpoa/docs/s3suite94-android-implementing-authentication-in-your-app-1#prompting-the-user-to-name-a-security-key), and [Web](/dpoa/docs/s3suite94-web-implementing-authentication-in-your-web-app-1#prompting-the-user-to-name-a-security-key) Developer Guides. User names can also be controlled using an API Server Plugin, see [Create a Session Plugin](/dpoa/docs/s3suite94-create-a-session-plugin-1).
