Configure Microsoft Exchange to Work with the Digipass Authentication Module

Authentication settings in Microsoft Exchange must be compatible with the Digipass Authentication Module. This topic describes how to configure Microsoft Exchange for use with the Digipass Authentication Module.

Configure Microsoft Exchange

To allow the Digipass Authentication Module to intercept authentication requests and, where appropriate, pass them to the authentication server, Microsoft Exchange must have:

  • Forms authentication enabled

  • Windows integrated authentication disabled

To configure Microsoft Exchange

  1. Open the Microsoft Exchange admin center.

  2. Select servers > virtual directories.

  3. Select the required server from the drop-down menu.

  4. Double-click owa (Default Web Site) and select authentication.

  5. Select Use one or more standard authentication methods.

  6. Ensure that Basic authentication is selected.

  7. Ensure that Integrated Windows authentication is not selected.

  8. Click save.

  9. Switch to the Exchange admin center > servers > virtual directories.

  10. Double-click ecp (Default Web Site) and select authentication.

    The options to configure ecp (Default Web Site) authentication are displayed.

  11. Verify that Use one or more standard authentication methods is selected (Microsoft Exchange pre-selects the setting according to the selected option in owa (Default Web Site) authentication).

  12. Verify that Basic authentication is selected.

  13. Ensure that Integrated Windows authentication is not selected.

  14. Click save.

  15. Restart Microsoft Exchange Server.
