DigipassONE authentication software includes support for passwordless FIDO credentials called passkeys. Unlike a password, a passkey is resistant to phishing. Every passkey is strong and designed with no shared secrets. A passkey provides faster, easier, and more secure sign-in for websites and apps.
There are two types of passkeys: device-bound passkeys and synced passkeys. A traditional FIDO credential (device-bound passkey) only works on a single device. A synced passkey can work across all of a user's devices.
To assist users in their transition from passwords to passkeys, DigipassONE supports a WebAuthn mode called "Conditional UI". When this mode is enabled and the user has a registered passkey, the SDK autofills the passkey and does not display a password prompt. Enable this mode to provide the best FIDO experience for your users.
DigipassONE authentication software also uses intelligent credential detection to find critical details including whether a credential has been synced to the current device, which specific passkey credential provider is in use (such as Apple, Google, or Dashlane), and the user identifier linked to the credential provider.
