Connecting a DIGIPASS FX authenticator

You only need to connect your device using a single connection method. You do not need to enable all connection methods to use your device.

DIGIPASS FX7

USB-C

Find a USB-C port on your computer, docking station, or mobile device and plug in the DIGIPASS FX7 authenticator. The light on the end of the device will blink once to show that it is powered on. If your audio is not muted, you will hear the system sound indicating that the device has recognized that you plugged in a USB device.

If you are using an iPhone device, it must be an iPhone 15 or later.

If you are using an Android device, it must run on Android 9 or later.

DIGIPASS FX1 Bio

Option 1: USB-C

Find a USB-C port on your computer, docking station, or mobile device and plug in the DIGIPASS FX1 Bio authenticator. The device's battery light should light up green. If the battery light is blinking, it is charging. Once the device reaches full charge, the light will change to solid green.

If you are using an iPhone device, it must be an iPhone 15 or later.

If you use an Android device, it must run on Android 9 or later.

Option 2: NFC

Your DIGIPASS FX1 Bio authenticator does not need to be pre-connected if you use NFC as your connection mode. If you are using your DIGIPASS FX1 Bio authenticator with a mobile device and NFC, tap the DIGIPASS FX1 Bio authenticator on the NFC reader.

  • For iPhone devices: The NFC reader is near the top earpiece.

    If you are using an Android device, it must run Android 7 or later and support NFC. Please consult your device's user manual to verify its NFC capabilities.

  • For Android devices: The NFC reader is located in the middle of the back of the device, typically right below the cameras.

Option 3: Bluetooth

Bluetooth communication with FIDO hardware authenticators, such as the DIGIPASS FX series, is only available on Windows platforms. Ensure that Bluetooth is enabled on your device. To pair the DIGIPASS FX authenticator, hold the side button until the Bluetooth light starts blinking.

If you do not pair the device within 1 minute, you must put the device back into pairing mode.

To connect the DIGIPASS FX authenticator via Bluetooth (Windows)

  1. Click the Start menu and navigate to Settings.

  2. On the left-hand navigation bar, select Bluetooth and other devices.

  3. From the Bluetooth and other devices window, check to see if Bluetooth is enabled.

    • If Bluetooth is not enabled, activate it by toggling the “Bluetooth” option.

  4. Click Add Device.

  5. Click Bluetooth on the Add a Device prompt.

    • Verify that the DIGIPASS FX1 Bio Bluetooth light is still blinking and watch for the device to appear in the discovered device list.

    • If you do not see the DIGIPASS FX1 Bio authenticator in the list, click Show All Devices.

  6. Select the DIGIPASS FX1 BIO authenticator and click Connect.

  7. If you are asked for a pairing PIN, enter 0000 and click Connect.
