Wireless RADIUS terminology
An authentication service using wireless RADIUS has the following components:
Supplicant. The device from which a wireless access request originates.
Wireless access point. A wireless network signal transmitter and receiver. The wireless access point must be configured to use one of the following wireless protocols:
WPA Enterprise
WPA2 Enterprise
We do not recommend the use of the TKIP encryption algorithm on wireless networks due to inherent security issues. Configure your WAP(s) to use the AES algorithm.
Authenticator. The device to which the wireless access point passes authentication requests.
