# Embedded database

The embedded database option provided by OneSpan Authentication Server uses MariaDB 10.11.5. The database server is installed as an auto-start service (Windows) or auto-start daemon (Linux), respectively. A default database is created, namely Identikey Server. This database has full Unicode support.

If the embedded database is installed, the DBeaver database tool is also installed.

On Windows, the package is installed in the OneSpan Authentication Server installation folder. On Linux, the package is installed system-wide according to the Linux file system structure.
