The purpose of system monitoring is to monitor OneSpan Authentication Server via a management application and an SNMP server to request information from OneSpan Authentication Server. System monitoring also serves to alert administrators of certain events that originate in different system components.
System monitoring requires one or more notification targets to be defined to specify the output format. The available target formats are:
- SMS
- SNMP traps
To monitor the system via SNMP, for instance to be notified about events via SNMP traps and to process these traps, SNMP must be configured.
