# Options (dialog)

The Options dialog is used to configure the Audit Viewer application, including display settings and tracing options.

Available via Tools > Options.

| Field name | Description |
| --- | --- |
| Maximum List Size | The number of audit messages to display in the result pane at one time (see [Limiting the number of displayed audit messages](/sec/docs/oas-av-csh-limiting-the-number-of-displayed-audit-messages-3-28)). Possible values: 1–1000 |
| Auto Refresh Interval | The time duration in seconds between each data refresh operation, i.e. when Audit Viewer reads new audit messages from the audit source. You can increase this value if you experience a lot of load on the database or if Audit Viewer becomes slow or unresponsive because the database cannot handle too many queries in a reasonable time. Possible values: 1–60 Default value: 5 |
| Show Date/Time in | Determines whether to display date/time values in GMT/UTC or the local time zone. |
| Highlighting | This list box shows the types of audit messages used by the audit system, and a short mock audit message in the Appearance column shows how each message type will be displayed. |
| Change Font | Click this button to open a dialog to define how the text for the selected audit message type will be displayed. |
| Change Background | Click this button to open a dialog to define what background color will be used for the selected audit message type. |
| Tracing | Used to configure tracing options (see [Tracing](/sec/docs/oas-av-csh-tracing-3-28)). |
