# Authenticate Plugin Engine (dialog)

The Authenticate Plugin Engine dialog allows you to test a custom authentication engine. This is useful if it is new or has been changed.

| Field name | Description |
| --- | --- |
| User ID | The user ID to use to test the authentication engine. |
| Domain | Optional. The domain the test user belongs to. |
| Password | The valid password of the test user ID. |

Click Authenticate to test the authentication engine. Any errors will be displayed in the lower half of the dialog.
