Installing the sample website

Before you begin

To install the sample website, you require the following:

  • Java 17

  • Jakarta EE 10 web profile-compatible web container, for example, Apache Tomcat 10.1.

The code samples have been tested on Windows with Apache Tomcat 10.1.48 based on Jakarta EE 10 and JDK 17.

Install the sample website

To install the Java sample authentication website

  1. Copy the sample website WAR file to the tomcat_install_dir\webapps directory:

    • sdk_install_dir\Jakarta\bin\OASAuthSampleSite‑sdk_version.war  auth-sdk 

    • sdk_install_dir\Jakarta\bin\OASSampleSite‑sdk_version.war  full-sdk 

  2. Wait 10 seconds to allow the Apache Tomcat service to detect and automatically deploy the web archive file.

  3. Restart the Apache Tomcat service to complete the deployment.

    The application should now be deployed and accessible via:

    • https://localhost:port/OASAuthSampleSite-<sdk_version>/  auth-sdk 

    • http://localhost:port/OASSampleSite-<sdk_version>/  full-sdk 

    Replace port with:

    • 8443 if you installed the SDK on a server along with OneSpan Authentication Server using the embedded Apache Tomcat package.

    • 8080 if you installed the SDK on a server with a regular Apache Tomcat installation.

    You can rename the web archive file to change also the URL, e.g. rename it to FriendlyName.war and access it via https://localhost:8443/FriendlyName/.
