Customizing the SDK wrapper layer

The SDK installation contains build and project files, which are required to build the ASP.NET wrappers and the sample site. This allows changes to the wrappers to further customize the SOAP interface and sample site.

SDK wrapper customization requires the following:

  • CMake 3.31 or later

  • Visual Studio 2017 or later (with the ASP.NET and web development component installed)

  • Microsoft .NET Framework 4.7 or 4.8

  • Internet Information Services (IIS) 10

The main build and project files are located in sdk_install_dir\ASP.NET, specifically in the following subfolders:

  • bin. Contains the generated sample site and compiled libraries provided by OneSpan.

  • doc. Contains generated help files (CHM), with details of wrapper commands and their formats.

  • src. The OneSpan Authentication Server sample site and wrapper source and solution files.

Source samples

While customizing the wrapper layer, you may want to refer to source code samples.

The SDK provides useful source code samples in the src/IdentikeySampleSite/ folder. This folder contains further subfolders with names corresponding to specific wrapper commands, for example, administration, authentication, or provisioning.

To publish the WSDL files and building the customized wrapper (for ASP.NET in Windows)

  1. Start the Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager.

  2. Right-click on the default website, then select New > Virtual Directory.

  3. Click Next, then enter schemas into the alias field.

  4. Browse to the path of the SDK product install directory and select the WSDL directory, i.e., sdk_install_dir\wsdl. Click Next.

  5. Check Read and Browse.

  6. Click Finish.

  7. Ensure the internet guest account (IUSR_computername) has access to the files in the sdk_install_dir\wsdl folder. This mounts the WSDL files on the location http://localhost/schemas.

    At this point, the WSDL files should be published as required.

  8. Build the customized wrapper:

    1. Open a command-line prompt.

    2. Switch to the sdk_install_dir\ASP.Net\src folder.

    3. Run the following commands:

      cmake -G "Visual Studio 17 2022" -A x64 .
cmake --build . --config Release
cmake --install .

    This creates binary artifacts in the sdk_install_dir\ASP.Net\src\install\Release folder.

  9. In the IdentikeyWrapper/ folder, update the web references to ensure that they can see the WSDLs mounted at the http://localhost/schemas address.
