# Client components properties

The following properties are common to all client components:

- Application type. See [Client component types](/sec/docs/oas-pg-client-components-types-3-28).
- Location. The network source location for requests.
- Protocol. The communication protocol used by the client component.
- Policy. The policy to use when handling requests by the client.
