Deactivate instance

This action allows you to deactivate an authenticator instance.

Available via the DIGIPASS > DIGIPASS tab if the respective device is an activated authenticator instance that has at least one active authenticator application and is not expired.

To deactivate an authenticator instance

1. Select the authenticator instance that you want to deactivate from the DIGIPASS list.

2. Click DEACTIVATE INSTANCE.

3. Click YES to confirm the deactivation.

   The respective authenticator instance is expired, and all associated authenticator applications are deactivated. The INSTANCE DEACTIVATED page is shown, displaying the deactivation message both as plain text and as a Cronto image. To complete the deactivation on the client, the user must either manually type the deactivation message or scan the Cronto image on the mobile device.

4. If the user is not present or you do not have access to the mobile device right now, you can provide the required information to the user as follows:

   1. Click COPY IMAGE TO CLIPBOARD to copy the Cronto image.

   2. Click SEND EMAIL to open the default mail application with a prefilled default message containing the deactivation message text. If no mail address is configured for the user, the To field will be left empty and you need to enter it manually, or provide the deactivation message using another communication method.

   3. Paste the Cronto image that you previously copied (with COPY IMAGE TO CLIPBOARD) into the mail body (replacing the placeholder text) before sending.

   Alternatively, provide the deactivation message to the user using any communication method approved and used by your organization.

   Once you close the INSTANCE DEACTIVATED page, the deactivation information will no longer be available and cannot be displayed again!
