OneSpan Authentication Server Virtual Appliance is supported on the following VMware Workstation versions:

  • VMware Workstation version 10
  • VMware Workstation version 9

Known issues

Please consider the following issues before you run OneSpan Authentication Server Virtual Appliance on VMware Workstation and VMware Player:

  • The performance of OneSpan Authentication Server Virtual Appliance will be slower than on an ESXi server. We recommend to use VMware Player only for demo purposes, but not for production environments.
  • Ensure that NTP is properly configured on your VMware platform. Otherwise, clock skew issues may occur.
  • Due to driver constraints, it may not be possible to migrate VMware images from VMware Workstation to ESXi, because only the install time drivers are present. Other emulated hardware may remain undetected.
  • The OneSpan Authentication Server Virtual Appliance ISO image cannot be started with VMware Player. If you want to run the appliance with VMware Player, you must first prepare the ISO image as explained in this guide.
