Create a new tenant

Only Super Admins can create a new tenant. See Create an Administrative User for instructions to create and register a Super Admin. You can use either the Admin Console or the command-line tool to create a new target tenant.

You cannot create a tenant named SYSTEM, Admin, or default because these are built-in tenants.

Using the Admin Console

  1. Log in as a Super Admin to the Admin Console. Navigate to Administration > Tenants.

  2. Click Add Tenant. Enter the new tenant ID in the dialog that appears. You can use any characters. Protect your servers by using only letters and digits in the tenant ID. If you set a value for nnl.restrict.input.field.regex property in the installation properties file, then the server does not allow you to create a tenant ID that conforms to that regex value. Click Create.

  3. The Steps for configuring a new tenant are displayed. Not all of these steps are required when you import a source tenant into this new target tenant. Click Close.

Using nnl-mgmt.sh

Use nnl-mgmt.sh's tenant create command. Run this command on the server where you want the new target tenant to reside. The example below creates a new tenant with tenant id: marketing.

./nnl-mgmt.sh tenant create -tenantid marketing
