Localizing strings in your replacement UI

If you replace any of the default UI classes as described above, you can still use a JSON UI configuration file to specify custom strings for localization. Here are the steps:

  1. Prepare and store the JSON UI configuration file and the HTML for your replacement UI. Ensure that the HTML for your replacement UI contains the data-tag attribute whose value tells which key in the UI configuration file's strings object corresponds to the localized word. For details on this step, see Localizing Your Replacement UI with the Web App SDK.

  2. From your JavaScript app, call NNLUiConfig.addUiConfig() or NNLUiConfig.downloadUiConfig() to specify the JSON UI configuration file you are using.

  3. Apply your JSON UI configuration to a specific view by calling ViewWrapper.onShow():
