Overview

Passport App for iOS allows you to use out-of-band (OOB) authentication without incurring the overhead of implementing OOB support in your own mobile app. OOB authentication enables you to use a second device tied to the user, typically their cell phone, to authenticate. Your web app initiates authentication by either:

• Sending a push notification to your customized Passport App that is installed on the user's cell phone. When the user receives the notification, they authenticate with your customized Passport App using a registered FIDO authenticator, like fingerprint.

• Displaying a QR code on the device running your web app. The user scans the QR code with your customized Passport App, then authenticates with a registered FIDO authenticator.

Supported platforms

Passport uses the App SDK for iOS. The App SDK supports devices running iOS 14 and later.

Prerequisites

You must have the following software and tools installed, present, and configured:

• Macintosh with OS X 13.5 and later

• Xcode 15.0 and later

• An Apple device with iOS 14 and later, equipped with either Touch ID or Face ID

Version information

The guide covers version 9.3.0 of the Digipass Passport app for iOS. Please confirm that you are using the corresponding version for best results. You can find version information in version.txt.

What’s in the package?

The Passport App customization package contains the following folders and files:
