Rule Template Commands

Rule template commands are used during installation and upgrades. These commands apply to Adaptive Rulesets and FIDO policy post operation rules. A rule template file is a Drools file and follows the naming convention show below:

<rule name>_template_<major version>_<minor version>.drl

For example, AcmeAdaptive_template_2_1.drl.

The first version of a template file is 1_0.

Export

Syntax

./nnl-mgmt.sh rule_template export -name <template-name> [-dir <template-dir> | -file <file-path>] [-version <versionNumber>]

Parameter

Description

name

Mandatory. The name of the rule template file to export.

dir

Optional. Rule template files are written to this directory. Defaults to your current directory.

file

Optional. The path to the file where the system exports the rule template. The file cannot already exist.

version

Optional. Specifies the version of the rule template to export. If version is not specified, then all rule templates with the provided name for all available versions are exported.

Description

Exports the rule template file(s) for the SYSTEM tenant into the specified directory.

You either specify a directory or file path where the system exports the rule template but not both. The file path already includes the directory. If you only specify dir, then the system generates the file name.

Example

./nnl-mgmt.sh rule_template export -name DevicesForUser

Import

Syntax

./nnl-mgmt.sh rule_template import -dir <template-dir> [-overwrite <yes|no>]

Parameter

Description

dir

Mandatory. Directory where the rule template files that you want to import are located.

overwrite

Optional. Defaults to No. Value can be one of the following:

  • Yes: If a rule template with the same name exists, it is overwritten.

  • No: If a rule template with the same name exists, it is not overwritten.

Description

Imports the rule template file(s) into the rules_template table in the Authentication Server's database. The rule template is imported for the SYSTEM tenant and can be used by all tenants.

nnl-mgmt.sh rule_template import -dir /<NNL HOME>/bin/internal/packages/server/data/policies/rules/

List

Syntax

./nnl-mgmt.sh rule_template list [-name <template-name>]

Optional. The name of the rule template file to list.

Description

Lists rule template files.
