Version 2.2.2 of the PCC is still a valid and working version. Users with 2.2.2 installed will still be able to sign transactions, and will not be asked to update to this version during the signing process. However, should you prefer to benefit from the following new features and fixes you can manually download and install the latest PCC version 2.2.3.
