Hot Fix 1

September 9, 2026

App SDK for Android version 9.5.0.115

New in this version

  • Third party applications are now prevented from capturing screenshots or recording any application built with the Android App SDK.

    • Previous behavior

      • It was possible to screen capture or record Android applications built with the App SDK.

    • New behavior

      • Screenshots and other forms of recording are no longer allowed, making it less likely for passwords and keystrokes to be exposed.

  • Quick Authentication is now supported by AdaptiveUI.authenticate().

    • Previous behavior

      • AdaptiveUI.authenticate() would skip Quick Authentication due to authentication starting in AUTO_ANY mode by default.

    • New behavior

      • All possible value combinations of EXTRA_KEY_AUTO_START and EXTRA_KEY_SIGN_IN_QUICK_MODE are now passed to AdaptiveUI.authenticate() so StateAuto is not automatically triggered.

      • AutoStart modes have been updated to start authentication in StateAuto.

Issues resolved in this version

  • A NullPointerException is thrown when an application attempts to complete adaptive authentication after a previous network request times out.

    • Previous behavior
The error occurs when an authentication request times out in the middle of an adaptive exchange.

    • New behavior

A NullPointerException is no longer thrown.

Android App SDK: 9.5.0.105

Rebranding

The Nok Nok S3 Authentication Suite has been renamed to Digipass S3 Authentication Software, which includes the Digipass S3 Server and the Digipass S3 App SDKs. The Nok Nok Tutorial app has also been renamed to the Digipass S3 Tutorial app. The user interface for the Tutorial app has the same flow and menu structure, but with a new look.

New in this version

  • The App SDK’s Sign-in flow implements the WebAuthn feature conditional create. This feature silently creates a passkey when the user has logged into the app with a username and password that was previously saved and auto-filled by Google Password Manager. For more information, see the Developer guide for Android.

  • Customers can download a checksum with their product package to independently verify the integrity and authenticity of the software.

Issues resolved in this version

  • The App SDK returns a different error code for duplicate registration attempts, depending on which Android device is used.

    • Previous Behavior
When a user attempts a duplicate registration, the App SDK sometimes returns INVALID_STATE and sometimes returns FAILURE depending on the type of mobile device.

    • New Behavior
When a user attempts a duplicate registration, the App SDK returns INVALID_STATE  no matter which Android device they are using.

  • The App SDK displays a distorted preview of the QR code scanner on Pixel devices

    • Previous Behavior
On Pixel devices, the App SDK displays a distorted preview of the QR code scanner.

    • New Behavior
The App SDK shows a correctly proportioned preview of the QR code scanner on all devices.

  • The App SDK returns a ResultType SERVER_ERROR instead of SERVER_VERIFICATION_ERROR for status code 4403.

    • Previous Behavior
In an INIT_REG and an INIT_ADAPTIVE operation, The App SDK returns the ResultType SERVER_ERROR instead of SERVER_VERIFICATION_ERROR for status code 4403.

    • New Behavior
