Setting up the App SDK

Using Swift packages

This section contains information for developers who use Swift packages for their iOS project.

The SwiftPackages folder contains local Swift packages that reference all necessary frameworks. There are two packages in the SwiftPackages folder: NNLFrameworks for iOS frameworks and NNLFrameworksWatch for watchOS frameworks. Because both packages reference the frameworks with the same name, the two packages cannot be added to the same project at the same time.

Setting the path

The Package.swift file in the NNLFrameworks folder contains all resource bundles along with binary frameworks. Your code needs to set the path to the NNLFrameworks folder before you make any other SDK call so that the SDK will be able to use them:

//Configures the SDK to use package bundles
NNLFrameworks().initBundlesPath()

For an example of this call, see the file NNLSetup.swift in the TutorialAppPlus source code.

You can always modify the NNLFrameworks/Package.swift file to exclude frameworks which are not necessary to your application.

Adding the Swift package

Open your project with xCode, select the project and pull down the File>Add Packages… menu. Click the Add Local… button to add the local NNLFrameworks package that is inside the SwiftPackages folder.

Now when you select your project in the TARGETS list, you see NNLFrameworks in the list of Frameworks, Libraries and Embedded Content.

For an example of a properly configured Xcode project that includes the NNLFrameworks package, see the Tutorial App that is included with the App SDK. Tutorial App is discussed in depth in Exploring Tutorial App.

Updating the privacy manifest file

Starting in Spring 2024, your privacy manifest file must describe your use of the required reason API. Find the privacy manifest file for APIs used by the App SDK at

SwiftPackages/NNLFrameworks/Sources/PrivacyInfo.xcprivacy

Do one of the following in order to be accepted by App Store Connect after Spring 2024:

  • Add the given PrivacyInfo.xcprivacy into your application project before building.

  • If you already have a privacy manifest file, merge the reasons inside the given PrivacyInfo.xcprivacy into your existing file.

Importing the App SDK into your mobile app

Add the following system frameworks to your mobile app. The Digipass S3 App SDK depends on them:

  • SystemConfiguration.framework

  • LocalAuthentication.framework

  • WatchConnectivity.framework

  • CoreLocation.framework

  • CoreMotion.framework

  • AVFoundation.framework

  • AuthenticationServices.framework

  • SafariServices.framework

  • WebKit.framework

  • DeviceCheck.framework

  • CloudKit.framework

To enable CloudKit in your app, refer to the Apple documentation. Then while still in Xcode, click on the Signing & Capabilities tab and scroll down to the iCloud section to select the following checkboxes:

Add the “cydia” schema in your app plist file in the LSApplicationQueriesSchemes section. This allows the App SDK to detect if the app is running on a jailbroken device.

Importing the App SDK into your watchOS app

Add all frameworks and libraries from the FrameworksWatch folder into the Embedded Binaries section of application properties General tab.

For an example of a properly configured Xcode project that includes all frameworks, see the Tutorial Watch App included with the App SDK. Tutorial Watch App is discussed in depth in Exploring Tutorial Watch App.
